Prom Dress Extravaganza

Prom is an important, but expensive, event for high schoolers.

That’s why on Saturday, April 1 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., and then 2:00-5:00 p.m., we will be hosting a Prom Dress giveaway to provide free dresses to our Elmwood Park teens.

Dresses are first-come first-served. Limited to one per person. Space to try on dresses will be available. There may not be something available for every girl who comes in. Any needed cleaning or repairs of the dresses will be the responsibility of the person taking the dress.

National Library Week and Edible Book Contest

National Library Week is April 9-15, and we'll be kicking it off on Sunday, April 9 with our:

First Annual Edible Book Festival

Make an edible literary creation and bring it to the Library for viewing, voting, and eating! Your creation could be inspired by a character, a book cover, or a clever take on a book title.

We’ll vote for winners in five categories:

  • Kids
  • Teens
  • Families
  • Adults
  • Best Overall

Then we’ll eat it all!  No entry is required for voting & eating. Bring entries (and the related book, if possible) starting at 1:00 p.m.

Voting starts at 2:00 p.m., and eating starts at 2:30 p.m.
