Library News & Services

Closed for Mother's Day

We will be closed on Sunday, May 14 for Mother's Day. Find some good books or movies ahead of time to help celebrate the day!

New: WiFi Hotspots for Checkout

Ever wish you could take your WiFi to a friend's house? Or bring it on vacation?  Or have it at the park? Now you can!

The Library now has five new WiFi hotspots available for Elmwood Park residents that you can check out for three weeks with your library card. Ask for them at the front Circulation Desk.

Movie Maker Skills: Editing (RR, four-part class)

Click to register • May 9, 11, 16, & 18 • 4:00-5:00 p.m. • Grades 6-12

Sure, you can shoot video, but then what do you do with it? With this class, learn the basics of how to edit video and make better movies!

Then once you've improved your editing skills with this class, you should think about entering into our first annual Shorts Film Festival that we'll be hosting on August 19.  We will be taking submissions in three age groups: MidKids, Teens, and Adults. Within each of those groups, there will be two categories: book or movie trailers, and short original films.

Submissions are due Saturday, August 5. For more details, contact the Kids & Teens Department.

Faster WiFi Network

We recently upgraded our WiFi network at the Library, and it has improved the speed, signal strength, network range, and overall experience.

So bring your laptop to the Library, hop on our network, and get some work done.  We hope you notice the difference!

(And while you're working, don't forget that we have wireless printing available at the Library, as well. Visit out website for instructions.)
