To all Staff and Interested Library Patrons,

The Elmwood Park Public Library Board of Trustees would like you to join us in welcoming our new Library Director- Michael Consiglio.  Michael has a long track record of Operation & Business Management brings a tremendous amount of know-how and passion to the role.  Michael is a lifelong area resident and we are looking forward to having Michael’s experience applied to the library services we provide for all members of the community.

Michael has most recently served as a Director of Operations & Finance for Guerin College Prep and Director of Operations & Finance for the Village of Bensenville.  Prior to this he followed in his family’s footsteps by dedicating 28 years to AT&T/Lucent Technologies as a Director of Operations & Finance. Michael has brought great enthusiasm to the challenges in any position he has held.

Michael has been a guest speaker and lecturer at Dominican University Brennan School of Business and hopes to continue his mentoring of youth for the library while he works toward his MILS degree.

Michael has been a board member of several charitable organizations. In his spare time, he helps organize fund raisers for causes associated with these groups.  He enjoys giving back to the community in which he has grown up.

Michael enjoys playing softball, has coached youth athletics, and is an avid sports fan. He has a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.  He attended Holy Cross High School and is a member of Mother Guerin Parish.  He and his wife Joanne have two daughters and three grandchildren.

Michael’s official start date will be Monday Nov 21, but I’m sure you will see him around over the next few days.  Michael will work closely with Jason to fully capture the entirety of the library finances and operations including all the recent programs and developments.  When you have a moment, feel free to introduce yourself to Michael.  Like the board, I’m sure you will find Michael an exciting addition to our library staff.

The board would also like to provide our deepest thanks and appreciation to Jason Stuhlmann for his service as acting Library Director during the board’s search process.   Jason has been and will continue to be a valuable member of our organization.  Jason has been very instrumental in keeping the library moving forward over his career.  When you see Jason thank him for his “above and beyond” service this past year.

The board is excited over the future we are building for the library.  It is indeed an honor and privilege for us to serve our community as board members.

Sincerely,

The Elmwood Park Public Library Board of Directors
