Start a home garden with seeds from the new EPPL Seed Library!

Check out and donate seeds with the Library! Starting April 1st, we are opening our new Seed Library. You can "check out" seeds for the season and start your own garden.

Get tips and resources to help with growing, and learn how to harvest seeds and bring them back for patrons to use next season! 

 

How to "check out" seedsSeed Library Process 1

1. Pick up some seeds
Beginning April 1st, stop by the Adult Services desk to “check out” up to 2 seed packets per day per family*!
*There is a limited supply
2. Plant your seeds
Each seed packet label provides information on the seed type, planting conditions, grow time, and more.
3. Watch them grow!
Tag us with your progress pictures @elmwoodparklib on Instagram, @Elmwood Park Public Library on Facebook, or use the hashtag #EPPLSeedLibrary!
4. Repeat the Process
Our Seed Library will be open all year round! Come back again any time to pick up new seeds for the next season. Donate some of your seeds to share with the community!
