Library Visits to Your School & Classroom
Our staff is happy to come and visit you in your classroom, gym, lunchroom, or wherever. We can provide one of the offerings listed below, but are also happy to work with you come provide for whatever need you are looking for.
Story Times
We are happy to bring story time to you! We have a large repertoire of books, songs, fingerplays, and more that we love sharing with the kids. We can also build a story time around any theme of your choosing if your class is celebrating a holiday or learning about a particular subject.
Book Talking
We love talking about books. We believe everyone has the potential to be a reader if you find just the right book.
We would love to come to your class or library and bring a load of books to talk about, and even let the kids check them out (as long as they own a valid library card). We like to talk about new books and our favorites, but we can promote a selection of books on any theme you’d like.
Technology Demos
If you would like us to come to your classroom with our Makerbot Replicator (3D Printer) or one of our other tech toys, just contact Adan at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more information and to schedule a day and time. He is happy to give a demonstration, answer questions, and let the students try their hand at the technology to make something cool!
You are also welcome to bring your classroom to the Library where we can show you even more of the fun things available in our PNG Lab.
Research/Database Instruction
The Library offers many online resources that are great tools for doing research. We have databases that cover history, science, biography, literature, and more, providing full-text articles from books, newspapers, and journals that can be printed, emailed, or saved.
We would be happy to come to your school and show your students how to use these databases effectively for their research assignments.
Career Days
Would you like to have a librarian and information specialist at your career day? We love being librarians and are happy to come to your school and talk about our field.
Special Needs Programs
We are proud to offer customized story times for several of our local special needs schools in the Elmwood Park area. We are excited to provide this service and invite other special needs school groups to contact us to set up their own personalized program.
