New Spaces, New Opportunities

story room puppet wall 400wThe Library’s autumn and winter interior renovation projects are underway. Starting Monday, August 20 our Story Room will be undergoing a beautiful transformation. Construction will continue through mid-September, and should have minimal impact to public spaces aside from our 2nd floor Self-Checkout machine and bulletin board being temporarily removed.

As part of the Story Room remodel, you can expect a bright and cheerful new room, including painted walls, carpeting, peek-a-boo window to the foyer hallway, and a brand new wall with a built-in, three-window puppet theater.  This lovely new feature will be in the form of a happy suburban house, complete with  picket fence, tree, flowers, and butterflies, as well as a magnetic/erase board and slat wall for books and display. We are super excited to have this brand new puppet stage to help make all of our story times and puppet shows come alive for the kids.

This wonderful update is possible due to generous donors to our Gift Fund over the years, including the 2017 Gatsby Gala sponsors and attendees, as well as private staff donations.

Thank  you for your support and patience, and we look forward to story times starting up again in September in our beautiful new Story Room.
