2019 library card signup month2Ticket to Adventure

This year Woody & the gang are helping us celebrate National Library Card Signup Month, and encourage your to come to the Library and get a library card.

During the month of September when you get a new card you will be entered into a drawing for a prize of your choice.  Pick from a variety of gift cards, or a kids' basket of fun stuff from Toy Story.

How to Get a Library Card

How do you get a library card? It's easy.

If you are 18 or older, all you need is a photo ID with your current Elmwood Park address. That's it!  If you are under 18, come in with your parent or legal guardian.

(If your ID does not have your current address, then a second piece of identification will be required.  Click here for more information.)

Just stop by the Circulation Desk and we'll sign you up!

Having a Library card can take you to infinity and beyond with access to information, entertainment, job searching, homework help, and so much more!  With a Library card you can connect to:

  • Books & other collections - Check out the usual books, movies, music, magazines, and video games.  Find it all through our SWAN Catalog

We also have Kindles, bike locks, device charging cords, laptops, and tons of other fun and useful stuff in our Beyond Books collection.

Prefer reading/listening digitally? Your library card connects you to a variety of eBooks and eAudiobooks available through the Libby and Axis360 apps.

  • Book Recommendations - Not sure what you want to read?  Use your library card to connect to Novelist, which provides book recommendations for readers in all age groups, allowing you to search your favorite books or authors to find read-alikes, or search by appeal terms, like "funny and quirky," or "moody and brooding."  Use Novelist to connect to your next great read!

  • Interlibrary Loan - Is what you want checked out? We can place holds on books and other items that we don’t own. On average it takes about a week, and it's free.

  • Computers & Internet Access - We have plenty of computers to use, free with your Elmwood Park Public Library card.

  • Online Resources for Research & Learning - We have a wide variety of online resources on our website that you can use with your Elmwood Park Public Library card.
